KELLETT JT SECOND FINISH IN MADRID - WINS EXEMPTION FROM TOUR SCHOOL STAGE ONE
Motherwell's Ross Kellett followed up his first pro win last weekend by finishing joint second in the Peugeot Tour Alps de Madrid in the Spanish capital today. Kellett shot rounds of 73, 63 and 68 for a total of eight-under-par 205, the same score as Ultsterman Gareth Shaw (68-70-67). The finished two shots behind the winner, Spain's Santiago Luna who had scores of 73-66-64, who had an albatross 2 at the par-5 14th where he holed his five-wood second from 221yds range. Kellett will be rueing the double bogey 6 he had at the fourth hole in his first round. After bogeying the second and third in his final round, the Scot covered his last 15 holes in four under par with birdies at the seventh, eighth, 12th and 18th. Kellett is currently second in the Alps Tour Order of Merit with 20,559 Euros won and because he is in the top six at the conclusion of this tournament in Madrid, he gains exemption from the European Tour School First Stage. Kellett is also leading the Alps Tour Rookie of the Year table from 2011 Walker Cup player Jack Senior.
