ENGLISHMAN DAVIS LEADS IN US - BUT KNOX MISSES ANOTHER CUT

Englishman Brian Davis is joint leader after three rounds of this weekend's US PGA Tour event, the Travelers Championhsip at TPC River Highlands, Cromwell in Connecticut. Davis has shot scores 67, 67 and 64 (29-35) for a running tally of 198, matched only by American Roland Thatcher with rounds of 66-67-65.
Padraig Harrington is slowly returning to form. He is joint sixth with a round to go on 201 with scores of 69-67-65 for 201.
But it was not all good news for golfers from this side of the Atlantic.
Inverness exile Russell Knox has lost his consistency on the No 1 tour this season - and his decision not to come over for the Aberdeen Asset Scottish Open at Castle Stuart is probably a wise one.
Knox missed yet another cut with rounds of 70-73 for 143. He needs to play in every US Tour event he can to try to make enough dollars to retain his card.
Changed days for Knox who was a prolific winner and dollar-earner on the Hooters Tour not so long ago.
