HOLMAN LEADS ASSUE MASTER OF AMATEURS BY FIVE STROKES

The overnight leader in the 2012 Australian Master of the Amateurs, 20 year
old Nathan Holman has tightened his grip on the title ahead of the final round
at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club.
With rounds of 67, 72 and 69, Holman now holds a five-shot lead over this field of 54 elite amateur golfers.
New Zealander Ben Campbell shot into contention with his round today of
seven under. Campbell, like the rest of the field, enjoyed the milder conditions
after the wild storms of the previous 24 hours.
But his was not the best round of the day. 17 year old West Australian Oliver
Goss shot 64, just one shot off the West Course record that’s survived for 50
years.

The shot of the day belonged to Englishman Ashley Chesters ... a hole-in-one
on the 202 metre par three 16th. And it’s not the first time the 22 year old has
scored an ace. It is in fact his fourth, the last one was eight years ago.
Queenslander Daniel Nisbet starts the final round in striking distance
of the leader. So too is world number five, Kelly Kraft from the USA and the
ever consistent Tasmanian McCarthy. He has had rounds of 72 71 and 71.
The stage is set for a day of high quality golf tomorrow and a fascinating finale.
