JUSTIN DUFF LEADS NE ALLIANCE WITH THREE-UNDER 67 AT TURRIFF

It was the Day of the Duffs in the North-east Golfers Alliance meeting at Turriff Golf Club today.
Fraserburgh member Justin had the lowest scratch score of three-under-par 67 and Newmachar member John Duff was joint second on the 70 mark with Kris Nicol (Fraserburgh and Gary Esson (Portlethen).
A total of 83 played including notable visitors from the West of Scotland Alliance, the Kinloch twins Peter and Jim. They are both members of Glasgow Gailes and, as you would expect from twins, they both had the same score of 78!
Colin Ord, who plays off six at Auchmill, had the best net score of 69 in Class 1 of the handicap section.
Jim Scott (Peterculter), playing off 11, had the lowest score of net 67 in Class 2.

LEADING RESULTS FROM EDINBURGH AND EAST OF
SCOTLAND ALLIANCE MEETING AT LIBERTON
Finally, the EESGA have managed to complete their first outing of the new season and even better with the 89 players basking in sunshine at Liberton Golf Club.
Winner of the Bernard Gallacher Trophy with a net 66 (72 less 6) was Alan Young (Lochend), closely followed by Wilson Morton (Dunbar) with a net 67 (71 less 4) and third place shared with net 68's by Tony Boyle (Glenbervie) 72 less 4, Steven Dand (Pumpherston) 74 less 6 and Andrew Wight (Glencorse) 71 less 3.
Scratch score was closely fought with three tied for 1st place - Andrew Erskine (Ratho Park), Colin Fraser (Peebles) and Gordon Law (Uphall) with level par scores of 67. Fourth spot was also shared three ways - Scott Latlin (Greenburn), Stephen Lamb (Cardrona) and Jamie Morris (Peebles) with 68s.
Senior prize goes to David Jeffrey (Whitekirk) with a net 69 (76 less 7).

Scottish Alliance Championships are held next week at Buchanan Castle.
Next Edinburgh and East of Scotland outing is on Wednesday, October 12 at Royal Musselburgh.
