KUCHAR AND WOODLAND US PAIR FOR WORLD CUP IN CHINA

FROM THE GOLFWEEK WEBSITE
Matt Kuchar has picked Gary Woodland for his Omega Mission Hills World Cup of Golf United States team of two partner, Golfweek has learned.
The World Cup, a biennial event that matches two-man teams based on the Official World Golf Ranking, will be played November 24-27 at Mission Hills in Shenzhen, China.
The format will be 72 holes of stroke play, with four-balls for the first and third rounds and foursomes for the second and fourth rounds.
Kuchar was the highest-ranked American who had expressed interest in playing. Steve Stricker, Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson declined invitations. Kuchar had his choice of a playing partner.
Kuchar is No. 12 in the OWGR, and Woodland is No. 38.
Italian brothers Francesco and Edoardo Molinari won the World Cup in 2009, the most recent World Cup before the tournament adopted a biennial schedule.
The last American winners were David Duval and Tiger Woods, in 2000.

+Martin Laird and Stephen Gallacher will be Scotland's pair at Mission Hills.
