HUGH HUNTER'S CLACKMANNAN COUNTY NEWS
Quite a number of Clackmannan golfers are featuring in competitions throughout Scotland--- it's been a quieter week for performances----- Best of the results came from Tulliallan’s Phil Dempsey in the West of Scotland Seniors at Lanark with a top ten (just) finish.
Phil scored 151 (72,79) 4 shots behind the winning score of 147. Bob Stewart missed out on his consistent top ten finishes with two rounds of 78.
In the Sutherland Chalice held at Dumfries and Galloway, Dollar’s Scott Borrowman finished in the middle of the field with an aggregate of 296 (73,74,75,74) while Braehead’s Scott Moffat just missed the cut with his first two round total of 152 (78,74). This weekend the Newlands trophy at Lanark is the next counting event in the Scottish Order of Merit.
In the Scottish Under 16’s at Forfar, Braehead’s Rikky Alexander just missed the cut in the rain shortened event. Next week is the Scottish boys' stroke play at Nairn Dunbar and Clackmannan county boys champion Lawrence Allan (Alva) will be hoping for a good performance.
