PERRY WINS ANGUS CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS OVER 18 HOLES

Monifieth Golf Club champion Ray Perry won the Angus County Golf Association's Champion of Champions' competition at Panmure Barry today after gale-force winds forced the organisers to cut the event from its scheduled two rounds to 18 holes. The golf balls were moving on one or two of the sloping greens.
Perry won the title with a round of 71, two ahead of Ross Coull (Montrose Links) with David Bissett (Brechin) and Steve Harrod (Angus County Golf Association) both on 74. Bisset's better inward half gained him third prize.
