US PLAYERS' CHAMPIONSHIP PLAY HOLD-UP DUE TO STORMS
Play in the third round of the US Players Championship at Sawgrass, Florida was suspended for 4 1/2 hours because of severe thunderstorms that circled the area for much of the afternoon (local time).
Play was scheduled to resume at 5.30pm (local time), which would be 10.30pm UK time.
David Toms, the 36-hole leader by one shot over Nick Watney, finished his second round about 1 p.m. Friday. Today's delay meant he would not tee off until shortly after 7 pm (local time) , and would only be able to play about four holes.
