NORTH-EAST, LOTHIANS, FIFE AND AYRSHIRE IN AREA SEMI-FINALS

Defending champions North-east carried on where they left off last year in winning the first Moneygate Scottish area team championship under its new stroke-play/match-play format at Kinross.
In this year's event, North-east headed the four teams who qualified from the rounds of stroke-play at Prestwick and Prestwick St Nicholas. North-east 718, 17 shots ahead of No 2 seeds Lothians, and will play the fourth qualifiers, Ayrshire (747) in Sunday morning's semi-finals.
Lothians will play the No 3 qualifiers, Fife (746).
The semi-final winners will meet in the afternoon final.
