FANTASTIC FOX LEADS WITH 66 IN RAIN AT STRANRAER

By ALAN TAIT
A four-under-par 66 by Graham Fox (East Kilbride) in very difficult conditions - we had a 2hr rain delay - set the 2011 Optical Express Pro Golf Tour rolling at Stranraer Golf Club today.
Graham was one over par after six and then birdied the eighth to go out in level par 35. He then covered the back nine in four-under-par 31 with birdies at the 12th, 13th, 14th and 18th.
His fantastic score of 66 gives him a two-shot lead from Northern Open champion Greig Hutcheon (Banchory) going into the second and final round on Friday.
Paul O'Hara, taking a break from campaiging on the German PGA's EPD Tour, is lying in third place with a 69.
Carnoustie's Katy McNicoll had the best ladies' score - a 73 - which put her in joint 13th place overall, alongside big names such as Colin Gillies and Andrew Oldcorn. Heather MacRae (Downfield) had a 77.
