GEORGE MacMILLAN WINS ARGYLL AND BUTE MATCH-PLAY TITLE

George MacMillan of the host club Machrihanish emerged as winner of the 2011 Argyll and Bute area match-play championship after a titantic battle with Rothesay's Graham Bolton in Sunday afternoon's final.
Two down with two to go, George turned it round to beat Bolton at the 22nd hole in dazzling sunshine at the world famous links.
The beaten semi finalists were Rothesay's George Reynolds and Millport's Les Pirie.
