CRUDEN BAY SUPPORTS SGU GOLF AWARENESS WEEK

NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY CRUDEN BAY GOLF CLUB
Cruden Bay Golf Club is supporting the Scottish Golf Union in its bid to promote the benefits of golf club membership and increase membership recruitment all over Scotland. Timed to coincide with the weekend of the US Masters, the SGU and SLGA will be running a wide ranging marketing campaign during Scottish Golf Awareness Week (April 10 to 17) and throughout April which is hoped will prompt lapsed, nomadic or new golfers to set aside the time to play golf.
Cruden Bay’s PGA Director of Golf, Robbie Stewart (pictured) says:
‘We have many golfers in Aberdeenshire who are not currently enjoying the benefits of golf club membership and would be surprised to discover that for approximately £10 per week they could be a member of one of the top clubs in the country and play on a course that is regularly rated in the World's Top 100. We certainly welcome enquiries from all categories of golfers who may be interested in joining our club.’
Cruden Bay is offering two promotions running from April 1 – 17:
• Current Full Members may introduce guests free of charge and,
• Visiting golfers with ‘AB’ postcodes may play for half price i.e. £35 as a ‘Try Before You Buy Exercise’

Ross Duncan, Marketing Manager for the Scottish Golf Union, said:
“We are delighted that Cruden Bay is getting involved in this year’s Golf Awareness Week. They have adopted an innovative approach to attracting new members which I’m sure will prove successful in recruiting new golfers and retaining existing members to their wonderful club.”
“This is the third year that the Scottish Golf Union has staged national marketing activity to promote the benefits of joining a golf club. Last year’s campaign was a success, with 37% of clubs reporting an increase in their membership and 10% of clubs attracting an increase in numbers of 10% or more.” he added.
Cruden Bay is a warm and welcoming golf club that caters for both members and visiting golfers from across the globe. The golf course creates unique challenges for all categories of golfer and offers the one thing that all golfers enjoy – FUN. Set against a backdrop of subtly contoured greens and magnificent panoramic views, the course truly justifies its place high in golf course rankings.
