McKNIGHT SLUMPS WITH FINAL 77 ON HOOTERS TOUR

Former Scotland junior international Robert McKnight blew up in the final round of the NGA Hooters Tour Winter Series event at Sugarloaf Mountain Golf Club, Minniola, Florida.
Well enough placed in joint 22nd place with one round to go in the 54-hole event, McKnight followed up his opening rounds of 70 and 72 with a five-over-par 77 over the 7,107yd course.
That dumped the Scot down to 40th place on three-over-par 219 and reduced his payslip to $766.
McKnight, pictured by Cal Carson Golf Agency, bogeyed the first four holes  and birdied the long ninth to be out in 39. He bogeyed the 12th, birdied the long 12th, and had another bad run of bogeys at the 13th, 14th and 15th before making it a hat-trick of birdie 4s at par-5 holes at the 18th.
Ted Potter from Ocala, Florida was the winner of the top prize of $11,330 with a 10-under-par total of 206, made up of scores of 71, 68 and 67.He won by two shots from Jeff Corr (Longwood, Florida) who earned $5,601 for rounds of 70, 70 and 68.
Former British amateur champion Reinier Saxton from Amsterdam earned $2,768 for finishing sixth on 210 with rounds of 67, 71 and 72.
