David Patrick edged in front during the second round of the Scottish Young Professionals' championship at West Lothian.
The defending champion, who formed part of a three-way tie at the top after the first round, posted a one-under 70 for a one-under 141 to finish the penultimate day a stroke ahead of Ranfurly Castle's Andrew McIntyre, who moved into the hunt with a 69.
Scott Herald and Terry Mathieson share third spot on 143 while Greg McBain sits in sixth on 146 after a 71. Gareth Wright hit a 73 to share 22nd with Heather MacRae on 153 but Oliver Huish missed the cut.
