Tiger to play in 36-hole pro-am in Ireland week before Open
Tiger Woods will play his first tournament outside of the United States this year at a charity pro-am in Ireland.
Tournament officials say Woods has agreed to play in the event organised by Irish businessman and racehorse owner J.P. McManus.
The 36-hole pro-am on July 5 and 6 will be held at Adare Manor, a former Irish Open venue, the week before the Open at St. Andrews.
Woods said in a statement released by the organisers that because of his own foundation he understands “the importance and necessity of raising funds to help deserving individuals.”
