ABERDEEN LINKS CHAMPIONSHIP

Ross v Morrice thriller ... still locked together after 25 holes!

Sean Murray (BA) and Stuart Slessor (N) were the early winners in last night's Aberdeen Links championships. They were out early to resume their first round ties from Monday night against Kev Dalglish (BA) and Ian Welsh (BA) respectively.
Both players finished off their opponents at the fourth hole with a birdie for Murray and a magnificent eagle 3 from Sleesor. They then fought out a close encounter in the second round with Murray squeezing through on the final green.
Elsewhere, Caledonian's Alex Cruickshank won the battle of the past champions with a 2 and 1 win over clubmate Stewart Finnie.
Phil Boyce (Northern) played some fine golf in tricky, windy conditions to oust another past champion in Alan Shand (Bon Accord).
Caley team-mates Walter Ross and Lee Morrice will resume on Friday after 25 holes failed to provide a winner.
