Home win for Chris Kelly in Cawder pro-am with a 68

Chris Kelly, playing over his home course, won the £1,085 top prize with a round of two-under-par 68 in the £6,750 Cawder Golf Club pro-am today
It was Kelly’s third pro-am win of the season, following victories at Roxburghe in April and Portpatrick in May.
Kelly finished a shot ahead of Graham Fox (East Kilbride) and Colin Gillies (Braid Hills) thanks to birdies at the fourth, 10th, 11th and 16th, which cancelled out bogeys at the second and third.
Fox and Gillies each earned £759.
Kelly almost made it a double whammy in the team event but had to settle for second place behind the Circle Insurance trio of amateurs, Alistair Macpherson (handicap 2), Graham Murray (9) and Danny McIntyre (13), spearheaded by Falkirk Tryst pro Craig Matheson. They had a net score of 15-under-par 125, one shot better than Chris Kelly’s team.
