Ross Proctor wins North of Scotland boys' title

Forres Golf Club junior member Ross Proctor produced a brilliant second-round 64 on his way to an aggregate of 134 and a six-shot victory in the North of Scotland boys' championship for the H R Spence Trophy, sponsored by J &C Fotheringham, at Torvean Golf Club, Inverness.
Proctor trailed by one shot Neil Barnes (Deeside), the first-round leader with a 69, but he swept into a winning lead over the afternoon round.
Barnes, Ben Murray (Portlethen) and Andrew Carrell (Peterculter) finished joint second on 140.
Carrell (69-71) won the first prize for the lowest scratch aggregate by an Under-16 year old. Peter Sangster (Thurso), with 76-68 for 144, was runner-up.
Rory Franssen (Loch Ness), playing off 13, had the lowest handicap total of 131, winning by one shot from clubmate Calum Neil, playing off 16.
