Knox needs something special in second round,

and Gunn is six shots off the pace in Arizona

Inverness exile Russell Knox, a winner on the Hooters Tour three weeks ago, consistently makes the cuts on this highly-competitive US mini-tour but the Scot looks destined to fail in this week's event at The Members Club, Woodcreek in Elgin, South Carolina.
Russell has posted a first-round, one-over-par 73 to be seven shots behind the six players sharing the lead on 66. He is well down the field.
The cut mark can be as low as three under par on the Hooters Tour so Knox needs an exceptional second round over a course just over the 7,000yd mark.
Meanwhile, fellow Highlander Jimmy Gunn from Dornoch is struggling with a 74 on another very competitive US circuit, the Gateway Tour.
Gunn is six shots behind pacemaker Zack Miller in the Tour Championship at Legacy Golf Club, Arizona. The course is 7,199yd long.
