David Orr scores second win in

Ayrshire despite Prestwick rain

East Renfrewshire's tour professional golfer-cum-Glasgow taxi driver David Orr has put the "wheels" on his Tartan Tour season with two victories with seven days.
Last Tuesday he won the £1,029 top prize in the Ayr Belleisle pro-am and today, again in Ayrshire, David, pictured right by Cal Carson Golf Agency, collected the £540 main award in the rain-hit Linksland at Prestwick St Nicholas Golf Club 18-hole competition for Young Professionals.
Play was held up at the Ayrshire venue for three hours because of torrential downpour but that didn't affect Orr's concentration. He won by three strokes with a five-under-par round of 64, birdieing the third, sixth, ninth, 11th, 15th and 18th in halves of 32. The only blemish on his scorecard was a bogey at the 227yd par-3 17th.
Runners-up on 67 were Neil Fenwick (Dunbar) and Mark Finlayson (Edzell).
By a curious coincidence or perhaps it reflected the "best time" to be playing, Orr, Fenwick and Finlayson were all off the tee within the same 30min span in a field of 81.
