Vancsik wins Italian Open by six

Argentina's Daniel Vancsik captured the BMW Italian Open championship in Turin today - his second European Tour title - but what will have golf fans really talking is that American John Daly finished joint second in only his second event back from a four-month lay-off.
Vancsik, who took the 2007 Madeira Island Open by seven strokes, won the Italian title by six after a superb closing round of 65.
Daly's 66, though, lifted him from 11th into a tie for the runners-up spot with England's Robert Rock and Frenchman Raphael Jacquelin.
The 43-year-old former Open and US Open champion, down at 794th in the world, is still serving a six-month US Tour ban after being put in jail to sober up late last year and in February underwent gastric band surgery which has already brought his weight down from 20 to 16 stones
Aberdonian Richie Ramsay, pictured above, achieved his highest European Tour finish and collected his biggest cheque with a final total of seven-under-par 277 - made up of rounds of 67, 70, 70 and 70 - to get a share of 14th place. His financial reward was 19,110 Euros.
Ramsay was not the highest finishing Scot in the tournament, however. That honour went to Alastair Forsyth who scored 73, 68, 67 and 68 for eight-under--par 276 and a share of eighth place. Forsyth earned 25,805 Euros.

Glasgow-born Canadian Alan McLean tied for 25th place on 280 to earn 12,155 Euros.
The only other Scots to beat the halfway cut, Gary Orr earned 9376 Euros for a share of 34th place on 281 and Marc Warren 2730 Euros for a share of 67th place on 287.
