Peter Sewell wins Tom Galloway Trophy

By KEITH LIDDLE
Secretary, Edinburgh & East of Scotland Alliance
It seemed very fitting that today we were playing for the Tom Galloway Trophy which was won by Peter Sewell (West Linton) with a net 71 (better back nine) in tricky, windy conditions.
In the scratch section Terry Mathieson (King's Acre) and David Patrick (Elie) shared top spot with one under par scores of 71. Terry had six birdies (1st, 6th, 7th, 12th, 17th and 18th) but dropped five shots.
David was three over par after 14 holes, but finished with a run of birdie, par, birdie, eagle. Andrew Oldcorn (King's Acre) was third with level par 72 and Scott Catlin and Neil Colquhoun shared fourth place on one over.
The handicap section was very close too. Andrew Rothney (Deer Park) (scratch), Ian Fyfe (Musselburgh) (2) and Peter Sewell (West Linton) (8) shared the lead with net 71s. In fourth equal place on 72 were Michael Louden (4) Glencorse, Colin Rae (7) Pumpherston, Alan Devlin (13) Pumpherston and Bryan Peterson (7) Dunfermline.
Thank you to everyone who helped celebrate the late Tom Galloway's life, with a big thank you to Tom's family and Dunfermline Golf Club for allowing us to be part of the day.
