EVERETT HOLDS ON TO ONE-SHOT
LEAD IN SCOTTISH ALLIANCE

Caldwell professional Craig Everett maintained his one-shot overnight lead on the second day of the Scottish Golfers' Alliance championship at Moray Golf Club, Lossiemouth.
He will start the third and final round, over the Moray Old Course, on two-under-par 138, one shot ahead of Edzell's Alastair Webster.
Everett and Webster both had one-over-par 70s over the New Course today.
The two seasoned professionals finished strongly on a windier day to pull away from the field again. Everett, who had bogeyed the third, 10th and 11th, birdied the 14th and 16th.
Webster birdied the 14th and 17th after dropping shots at the third, eighth and 10th.
Two amateurs - local hope Kevin Thomson (Moray) and past Scottish international Bryan Fotheringham (Forres) - are bracketed with Boat of Garten professional Ross Harrower in third place on 143.
Harrower slipped back from a 69 to a 74, Fotheringham from a 70 to a 73 but Thomson, benefiting from local knowledge in testing conditions, was able to follow up a 73 with a 70.
Defending champion Graeme McInnes (Murcar Links) slipped back to 152 with an 82 over the New Course, having covered the more highly-rated Old Course in a creditable 70 shots on Tuesday.
McInes had triple bogeys at the fifth and seventh as well as a double bogey at the 16th.
Paul Jamieson (Dunblane) had a hole in one with a seven-iron at the 17th hole (181yd) on the New Course but he finished with an 83. He was partnered by Darren Hexley (Inverness) and A Rothney (Deer Park).
Ballumbie Castle professional Lee Sutherland ran up an 11 at the par-4 second hole on the New Course. He was playing 7 off the tee!
Best score of the day was a par-matching 69 on the New Course by Deer Park's A Rothney who birdied the seventh, eighth and 18th while bogeying the third, fifth and 14th in halves of 34 (level par) and 35 (level par).
Next year's Scottish Alliance championship will be played over the Gullane Nos 1 and 2 course. The October dates for the three-day, 54 hole tournament have still to be finalised.
