ABYSMAL SCOTS' SCORES AT LA CALA:
PAUL DOHERTY 82, GRAHAM GORDON 86

Paul Doherty and Graham Gordon, the only Scots to survive the cut, had abysmal final rounds of 82 and 86 respectively in the rain-reduced Ladbroke Masters' PGA EuroPro Tour event at La Cala Resort, Malaga on Spain's Costa del Sol.
While Yorkshire John Parry was going round in 65 to win the £10,000 prize with an aggregate of 132, Doherty finished joint 48th on 149 (67-82) and earned a paltry £202. Worse than that, because he played so badly - one double bogey and not a single birdie - in the second round, he failed to make the top 60 in the Order of Merit who will contest the Tour Championship at Les Bordes in France, next month.
Gordon, whose second-round 86 contained back-to-back 9s in an inward half of 47, finished 53rd on 155 and earned £185. He actually dropped 11 shots to par in three successive holes - the 12th, 13th and 14th with a run of 5-9-9 against the par of 3-4-5.
Fortunately for the Aberdonian such an embarrassing score did not cost him his place in the Tour championship as it did with Doherty.
The Scots who have qualified for the Tour championship are:
Elliot Saltman, Lorne Kelly, Barry Hume, Graham Gordon, Graeme Brown, Jack Doherty, Andrew Oldcorn and Callum Nicoll.
