Gillies wins Douglas Park pro-am
with last-hole birdie for a 68
Colin Gillies (Perry Golf) birdied the last hole for a two-under-par 68 to win the Bothwell Castle pro-am individual prize of £1,023 by one shot from David Orr (East Renfrewshire) and Paul McKechnie (Braid Hills).
It was Colin's third win of the season following pro-am successes at Carnoustie on April 30 and Douglas Park on June 19. The cheque puts Gillies into the top 10 of the Tartan Tour money table for the season.
Stephen Gray (Hayston) led the Glass Age Ltd trio of amateurs, Bryce Dewar (handicap 18), William Stewart (10) and Gordon Smith (16), to victory in the team event by two shots with a net score of 14-under-par 56
