DAVID ADDISON BACK IN SPOTLIGHT TO
WIN CAMERON CORBETT VASE

Five years after he won the Scottish Under-16 boys' open stroke-play championship at Helensburgh, David Addison came back into the golfing spotlight at the weekend.
Taking up the running at halfway, Addison, a Kilmarnock Barassie Golf Club member, won the Cameron Corbett Vase at Haggs Castle by three shots from Scott Henry (Cardross).
It was Addison's first ever Scottish Golf Union 72-hole Order of Merit tournament victory and a welcome return to the teenage form that earned him boy international honours and that Under-16 national title.
At Haggs Castle, Addison shot rounds of 69, 71, 68 and 69 for an 11-under-par total of 277.
He led by four shots after the Sunday morning third-round 68 but Henry clipped a shot off the margin without ever threatening to take the lead from him.

Henry's closing two rounds of 68 were a Sunday best by any of the qualifiers with 152 or lower for Saturday's first two rounds.
There was a triple tie for third place on 282 between Scott Borrowman (Dollar), who starred for the European students' select in their recent Palmer Cup win over the United States, Fraserburgh's Kris Nicol, producing his best-ever Order of Merit finish, and former Scottish match-play champion Glenn Campbell (Blairgowrie).
