TIE FOR STIRLING SENIORS GOLF PRIZE
BLAIR AND BROTHERSTON TIE
FOR
Haddington's George Blair and Ian Brotherston (Dumfries & County) tied for victory in the Central Scotland Seniors Open over 36 holes at Stirling Golf Club.
Blair scored 75 and 70, while Brotherston's rounds were 67 and 78.
Under the rules of the Scottish Seniors Golfing Society, there are no play-offs as tie-breakers, so George and Ian received equal prizes.
George is 51 and Ian 52 – the senior men's minimum age for competitive golf is normally 55 – but the SSGS are encouring players who have reached their 50th birthdays to support the Scottish senior men's circuit.
The SSGS captain, Gordon MacDonald (Callander), who has turned 60 and Hendry Anderson, 55 from Glenbervie, finished joint third on 146.
