Stirling student Booth slumps to an

80 and loses Youths' leadership

Stirling University second-year student David Booth lost his grip on the destination of the Scottish youths championship with a third-round 80 at The Roxburghe course today.
Booth had led by five shots from fellow Rotherham player Matt Evans after 36 holes but the positions were almost reversed for the start of the fourth and final round.
Booth's 80 - compared with his first two rounds of 67 - gave him a 54-hole tally of two-under-par 214.
Doncaster postman Evans, 21, surged past into a two-shot lead with a 73 for 212.
Only two of the top eight players are Scots - American college student Lewis Kirton from the Newmachar club and Liam McGowan (St Andrews New).
Kirton was in third place on 215 going into the fial round. He had a 75 after a pair of 70s.
McGowan is in a quadruple tie for fourth place on 220. He had a third-round 72.
