DOAK AND TAYLOR SHARE LEAD
IN WISHAW MERIT PRO-AM

Northern Open champion Chris Doak and Steven Taylor (Bothwell Castle) led the way on a day of low scoring in the first round of the Wishaw Golf Club Order of Merit 36-hole pro-am.
Taylor hit the six-under-par 63 mark with eight birdies and two bogies in halves of 30 (five under par) and 33 (one under). He birdied the second, third, fourth, seventh, ninth, 10th, 12th and 13th. He bogeyed the 11th and 15th.
Doak matched that 63 with halves of 32 and 31. An eagle 3 at the fourth and a birdie at the ninth sent him out in 32. Coming home, he birdied the 10th, 13th, 15th and 18th, dropping his only shot of the round at the 16th.
Jason McCreadie (Buchanan Castle) led the RBS amateur trio of Ian Kennedy (handicap 6), Graham Hillan (3) and Liam McGarry (8) to victory in the team event with a 16-under-par net total of 53.
