Dramatic finish to season opener at Norwich

Lorne Kelly in four-way play-off
for EuroPro Tour £10,000 prize

LORNE KELLY PIPPED IN PLAY-OFF
FOR £10,000 PRIZE

Former Walker Cup Scot Lorne Kelly from Cowal was pipped for the £10,000 first prize after a four-way play-off climax to the opening event of the PGA EuroPro Tour season - the Wensum Valley Internvational Open at Wensum Valley Golf & Country Club, Norwich.
Kelly and Harris could only par the first extra hole, Kelly's putt for a birdie lipping out.
The second extra hole was again halved in birdies by Seve Benson (Wentworth) and Michael Hempstock (Doncaster) before Benson completed a hat-trick of birdies to end the play-off at the third extra hole.
Benson's "real" first name is Seve - chosen by his father when Seve Ballesteros was in his prime 21 years ago.
Kelly, who runs a successful ProDream USA business in Glasgow, finding US colleges for British teenagers and vice versa, set the clubhouse target of two-under-par 214 after adding a two-under-par 70 to earlier efforts of 73 and 71.
The Scot birdied the seventh, 12th, 16th and 18th, bogeying only the first and 13th. His 4s at the long 16th and 18th were great efforts under pressure.
Kelly pocketed £3,066 for finishing officially joint second.
