A FEW DOLLARS MORE FOR GEORGE
MURRAY IN SOUTH CAROLINA
Former Scottish amateur champion George Murray from Anstruther earned $1,250 dollars for joint 34th place in the Tarheels Tour's Rivertowne Open at Mount Pleasant, South Carolina today.
Murray, in his second year as a tour pro, had rounds of 74, 72 and 75 for a five-over-par total of 221.
He finished 10 shots behind the winner of the $18,500 top prize, David Robinson from Georgia with scores of 73, 70 and 68 for five-under-par 211.
Three other Scots in the field failed to beat the 36-hole cut at 149.
Another former Scottish amateur champion Andrew McArthur from Windyhill failed by one with 76 and 74 for 150. Elgin exile Joel Hendry and Duncan Stewart from Grantown on Spey both hit the 155 mark, Joel with 75 and 80, Duncan with 79 and 76.
