BOOTH AND MACAULAY FOURTH

IN AUSTRALIAN FOURSOMES

Comrie's Wallace Booth and his Tulliallan partner, Callum Macaulay, finished fourth in a big field for the Australian men's amateur foursomes championship over 36 holes at Riversdale Golf Club, near Melbourne,Victoria.
Booth and Macaulay, pictured right, had scores of 73 and 70 for 143 - five shots behind the winners from Western Australia, Michael Foster and Michael Dennis with rounds of 68 and 70.
Scott Henry (Cardross) and Scottish amateur champion John Gallagher (Swanston New) finished joint eighth with 73 and 72 for 145.
Fraser Fotheringham from Nairn and his New Zealand partner, Willie Moore, finished on 151 with a 74 and 77.
On 152 came Kevin McAlpine (Alyth) and Keir McNicoll (Carnoustie) with scores of 77 and 75.
The foursomes tournament was a curtain-raiser for the 72-hole Riversdale Cup individual tournament tomorrow.
