EAT YOUR HEART OUT, TIGER! JAPANESE
PLAYER HITS DRIVE OF 414yd
While Tiger Woods was playing for position rather than length off the tee - he averaged "only" 280 yards - in winning the Buick Invitational out of the park, one player was credited with a drive of phenomenal yardage at the Torrey Pines tournament in San Diego, California.
Japan's Ryuji Imada is not known as a big hitter. He was 148th on the US PGA Tour in Driving Distance last season.
But in the final round of the Buick Invitational, he nailed the longest drive of the fledgling US Tour season ... 414 yards from the 14th tee.
Simple explanation: His ball landed on a cart path and just kept bouncing along!
