JAMIESON AND DUNCAN GO BACKWARDS
IN FINAL ROUND IN FLORIDA

Scott Jamieson from Glasgow and Turnberry's Gerrard Duncan cost themselves a fistful of dollars with poorish final rounds in the NGA Hooters Tour Winter Series event at StoneGate Golf Club at Solvita, Poinciana, Florida today.
Jamieson dropped from 20th to joint 29th with a 74 for two-under-par 214. The damage was done early with a bogey at the first, a double-bogey 5 at the short fourth and another shot dropped at the ninth in an outward three-over-par 39. Another bogey was sandwiched between birdies at the 14th and 18th.
He earned $926 which looked like being a lot more after earlier rounds of 69 and 71.
Duncan had a nightmare round of 80 to finish second last of the 41 qualifiers for the final round with a six-over-par total of 222. He had a pair of 71s in the earlier rounds.
Duncan had nine bogeys and one birdie in a 14-hole stretch from the second to the 15th. He earned $714 which had not covered his entry fee!
Irishman Sean McTernan from Sligo was the leading transatlantic player in 16th position with a 68 for seven-under 209 after earlier rounds of 70 and 71. He earned $1,620.
Jeff Corr from Florida won for the second week in a row, picking up the $11,545 top pay-out with scores of 66, 62 and 67 for a brilliant 21-under-par total of 195. He finished five shots clear of Robert MacWhinnie, who sounds as if he is of Scottish stock, from Pittsburgh. MacWhinnie scored 68, 64 and 68 for 200 and earned $5,757.
