GB&I WALKER CUP TEAM WILL
HAVE TO UPSET US DOMINANCE
OF WORLD RANKINGS
As this weekend's Walker Cup at Royal County Down, Northern Ireland approaches, it is perhaps worth tempering expectation - on this side of the Atlantic - of a home victory by reminding ourselves that Lloyd Saltman, in third place, is the only non-American in the top 10 of the latest R&A World Amateur Golf Rankings.
Colt Knost remains No 1 ahead of fellow American Dustin Johnson.
After Saltman, pictured right, one has to go down to 11th and 12th places to find the next British players, Englishmen Daniel Willett and John Parry.
There are only four Scots in the top 100 - Saltman, James Byrne (51st), Wallace Booth (52nd) and Callum Macaulay 53rd. Callum's South-east District Open play-off victory over Glenn Campbell boosted him 11 places on the table.
