CHALLENGE TOUR EVENT CUT TO THREE ROUNDS,
McARTHUR SIX SHOTS TO MAKE UP

By MICHAEL GIBBONS
Press Officer, European Challenge Tour
Windyhill's Andrew McArthur remains the leading Scot at the Firstplus Wales Challenge, but the decision to cut the tournament to 54 holes has left the Glaswegian too much to do in Sunday’s final round.
After the loss of Thursday’s first day’s play to torrential rain and the threat of further inclement weather, Challenge Tour Officials were left with no option but to reduce the event from four to three rounds.
That leaves McArthur with the task of making up six strokes on leaders Colm Moriarty of Ireland and Argentina’s Julio Zapata in the space of 18 holes at the Vale Hotel Golf and Spa Resort.
