BENVIE AND DEMPSEY LEAD CLACKMANNAN STROKE-PLAY

Ross Benvie, playing over his home Braehead course, and Paul Dempsey (Alloa) were sharing the lead on two-under-par 68 at the end of the first round of the 36-hole Clackmannan men's county stroke-play championship today.
But later news from the course was that Callum Macaulay (Tulliallan), who had a first-round 70, was on schedule to break the course record with a 60. We'll have confirmation of that later.
