LATE ENTRY WALKER SCOOPS £2,000 KINGSBARNS PRIZE
Ron Walker, professional attached to The Duke's Course, St Andrews, got a late call into the small and select field for the Eden pro-am played at Kingsbarns Links.
And he made the most of it by winning the top prize of £2,000 with a three-over-par 75 - which included a 10 at the par-5 ninth in very windy conditions.
Former British amateur champion Gordon Sherry (Barassie) was runner-up with a 77 and third place went to David F G Scott, the director of golf at Kingsbarns Links with an 81.
David's round included his first-ever hole in one at Kingsbarns Links. He aced the second with a four-iron.
Alastair Good (Gullane) led home his line-up of four amateurs - Chris Keey (7), Adrian Fairbourne (16), Alexander Georgiadis (17) and Alastair Stewart (7) - with a net team total of 12-under-par 132.
