JOHN DWYER LEADS GLENMUIR CLUB PROFESSIONAL
TITLE BY TWO SHOTS AT HALFWAY
As Ireland’s John Dwyer continues to reinforce his challenge for the Glenmuir Club Professional Championship at Royal Porthcawl, the main thrust of the Scottish contingent is coming from three sources.
Irvine’s Jim McKinnon added a level-par 72 for 145, while former Scottish champion, Craig Ronald, lopped three shots off Monday’s 74. And the least well known of the tartan trio, Gavin Cook from Prestonfield, recovered from a debilitating start – three bogeys in the opening four holes – to fire a 71, made up of five birdies and four bogeys.
Players with 147 or better qualified for final two rounds.
