European Challenge Tour event at Royal Waterloo

EAGLE HAS LANDED FOR BRILLIANT WHITEFORD
FINISH AS THREE SCOTS SURVIVE CUT

From Michael Gibbons, Challenge Tour Press Officer

Peter Whiteford produced a brilliant eagle three on the last hole to complete an outstanding second round of five under par 67 and join Euan Little and Scott Henderson for a weekend in Waterloo after surviving the cut of the European Challenge Tour’s Telenet Trophy.
Whiteford started the day on four over but found his form at the Royal Waterloo Golf Club to ensure he would be around for the final two days.
Standing on the last tee at one over and needing at least a birdie to survive the level par cut mark. The Kirkcaldy man smashed a great drive down the middle before finding the green with a three wood to 15 feet before rolling home the tricky downhill putt.
Little produced his own fine second round of three under par 69 to comfortably make the weekend, while Henderson fired a 73 to qualify on one under.
