BORDERS B CHAMPIONSHIP FINALIST SARAH PLAYED 13 HOLES WITH BROKEN ANKLE
Can you imagine playing 13 holes with a broken ankle! It's painful just even thinking about it.
But that's what Border Ladies County Golf Association vice-captain Sarah Bolton did in the final of the county's B championship at The Roxburghe, Kelso last Sunday.
Her husband Bob tells the story.
"Sarah fell over on the path to the fifth tee during the final. Thinking she had just twisted her ankle, she played on. She managed to keep going right to the 17th green where she finally lost by 2 and 1 to her Hirsel clubmate Corinne Campbell.
"Sarah was never behind in the match until the 16th when the pain just became too much for the adrenalin to keep it at bay. Later, we discovered she had broken her ankle!"
