SHARP PERFORMANCE BY JONNY
IN NORTHERN OPEN QUALIFIER

Jonny Sharp (Pro Golf Experience) finished three strokes ahead of a field of 101 in the qualifying round for next month’s Northern Open at Skibo Castle. Sharp returned a six-under-par 66 at Fairmont St Andrews today.
The only others to break 70 were Paul Malone (Braid Hills Golf Centre) and Scott Catlin (Greenburn).
The 85 qualifiers with scores of 82 or better included seven amateurs – Malcolm Isaacs (Nairn Dunbar), Toby Garrett (Meltham), Chris Munro (Westhill), Scott Walker (Ratho Park), Don Garrett (Huntly), Scott Green (Westhill) and Lee McDonald (Nairn Dunbar).
