WARREN, COLTART (both 69)
LEADING SCOTS ON
OPENING DAY OF
DUBAI DESERT CLASSIC

England's Ross Fisher and Graeme McDowell (Northern Ireland) share the lead on seven-under-par 65 at the end of the first day's play in the Dubai Desert Classic at Emirates Golf Club today.
Ernie Els is in joint third place on 66 while defending champion Tiger Woods, who beat Els in a play-off for this title 12 months ago, began with a 68.
Marc Warren and Andrew Coltart, pictured left, are the top Scots in joint 18th position on three-under-par 69.
Warren had a bogey-free round with birdies at the second, ninth and 13th in halves of 33 and 36.
Coltart, who started well but faded away in last week's Qatar Masters, had halves of 34 and 35 with birdies at the third, fourth, 11th, 13th and 17th. He dropped two shots - at the eighth and 15th.
Alastair Forsyth's 70 was made up of halves of 33 and 37. On the way out, he was "hot" in the early stages with birdies at the third, fourth and sixth, although he did bogey the fifth. Coming home. Alastair birdied the 10th and bogeyed the 12th to have the same score as Australian veteran Greg Norman.
