KEVIN McALPINE IS NEW CHAMPION
Kevin McAlpine from Alyth is the new Allied Surveyors' Scottish men's amateur champion.
In a one-sided 36-hole final in windy conditions, McAlpine overpowered Paul O'Hara (Colville Park), playing in his second final.
McAl;ine was eight up after 18 holes with five-under-par figures and was one-under-par for the afternoon holes in winning the tilte by 8 and 7.
Kevin birdied the second, fifth, sixth, seventh, ninth and 10th in the morning when he was six up at the turn. He lost only one first-round hole, the 14th.
