Gregg Brown wins West of Scotland
title at East Kilbride
Gregg Brown
of Cathkin Braes is the new West of Scotland Champion for 2019. Gregg shot
72-74 for 146 to pip Paul Gault of Haggs
Castle and Brendan McKenna of Pollok by virtue of a countback. The bad weather
forecast had obviously deterred a few competitors from turning up at a wet
blustery East Kilbride Golf Course but 38 players did brave the elements. The
players to a man praised the excellent condition of the course.
First round
leader Brendan McKenna of Pollok led the way with an excellent first round of
69 but rued a three-putt at the 36th hole which demoted him from 1st
to 3rd.
