Duke Comes in at No. 3 in Latest WGCA National Poll

DURHAM, N.C. – Coming off a runner-up appearance to open the 2019 campaign, the Duke women’s golf team remains No. 3 in the latest Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) poll.
Southern California opened the spring at No. 1 with 13 first place votes, while Texas, Duke, Stanford, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Kent State, Florida and Arizona round out the top 10 teams.
At the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate Championship, Duke turned in rounds of 286, 296 and 296 for a 14-over-, 878, which was only two strokes behind second-ranked Texas. The Blue Devils featured three golfers in the top 11 with Ana Belac (T8), Jaravee Boonchant (T8) and Gina Kim (T11).
Over the last three tournaments, Duke owns two first place finishes along with a second place ledger. The Blue Devils won the Tar Heel invitational and the Landfall Tradition to conclude the fall.
Duke features four golfers currently ranked in the latest Golfweek Individual listings – Boonchant (14), Belac (29), Virginia Elena Carta (31) and Kim (54).
The Blue Devils will next compete at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate March 8-10 in Hilton Head, S.C., at the Long Cove Club.
