Sean Lawrie wins NE Alliance at windy Aboyne with a six-under 62

Paul Lawrie's nephew, Sean Lawrie (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre), playing brilliantly in windy conditions, was only one stroke above the Aboyne course record in winning today's  North-east Golfers' Alliance with a six-under-par round of 62.
"I drove it well and I putted well - only 27 putts," said Lawrie who was playing his last round of the Alliance season.
"I am going back to a job in the oil industry for the next six months so I got this low score just in time."
Lawrie, who earned £140, had seven birdies in halves of 30 (four under par) and 32 (two under) in heading a field of 88 by four strokes. Even a card as low as 62 included one bogey … at the 15th where Sean missed a 6ft putt.
Runner-up was Sam Kiloh (Portlethen) with a two-under 66 (33-33) which included four birdies and two bogeys. He earned £110.
Sean Lawrie and Kiloh were the only players to get under the par of 68 on a day when there were 14 No Returns (16 % of the field).
