Elaine Moffat leading Scot at Crail in Senior British women's amateur

Elaine Moffat (St Regulus) was the leading Scot in the field of 90 at the end of the opening day of the Senior British Women's Amateur Championship at Crail Golfing Society's links.
She shot a two-over-par 74 to be joint 12th, seven strokes behind the Irish-born leader Laura Webb (East Berkshire) whose opening five-under-par 67 gave her a three-stroke overnight leader.
Linda Allan (Glenbervie) and Gillian Kyle (East Renfrewshire) were joint 46th on 79, one ahead of Donna Jackson (Troon Ladies).
North-east players had a disappointing day with Sheena Wood marking up double bogeys at the 16th and 16th in her 81 for a share of 56th place.
Fiona De Vries (StRegulus) and Alison Bartlett (Royal Dornoch) were joint 75th on 84.
Frances Millar (Carnoustie Caledonia) was last of 90 with an opening score of 90.
