Two Scots qualify for British girls'

match-play stages

Only four Scottish girls entered the British girls open amateur championship at Ardglass, Northern Ireland, and two of them - Hannah Darling (Broomieknowe) and Louise Duncan (West Kilbride) - qualified for the match-play stages.

Hannah, pictured, was joint 15th among the qualifiers. She had scores of 74 and 73 for 147. Louise was T42 on 152 (77 75).
Sweden's Ingrid Lindblad (Sweden) was the No 1 qualifier with excellent scores of 69 and 68 for 137. She finished three ahead of Mathile Claisse (France) 67 71.
The two Scots who failed to achieve the 36-hole aggregates of 153 and better to reach the match-play stages were:
Jennifer Rankine (Haggs Castle) 160 (76-84) T107.
Lorna McClymont (Milngavie) 167 (89-78) T128.
