GIRLS' HOME INTERNATIONALS AT BALLYBUNION FINAL DAY

Scotland, beaten 5.5-3.5 by Ireland in their final match, finished fourth in the girls' home internationals at Ballybunion Golf Club, Ireland.
It was a disappointing finish after establishing a 2-1 lead in the foursomes.
When Hannah Darling (Broomieknowe) increased the overall lead to 3-1 by winning the first singles, it looked promising for the Scots but they could manage to gain only half a point - Jennifer Rankine halved her game - from the last five singles.
England retained the title with a 5-4 win over Wales who put up a brave fight after losing the foursomes 2-1. The singles were shared 3-3.
